Fundraising Pages

The RNLI is funded by generous donations from organisations and the public. We would be nothing without our fundraisers! The money goes to run the boats and train the crew so that we know how to respond in an emergency.

The crew are currently busy organising the Aberdeen Lifeboat Ball. This is always a big event and was really successful and enjoyed by all last year.

If you work for or have a company who might be interested in supporting the Aberdeen Lifeboat 'Bon Accord Ball' at the Beach Ballroom on 20th April, then please get in touch with the station. Tables are £1000 (for 10) including champagne reception, band, meal, magicians..... We are also looking for some good raffle and auction prizes!

Thank you to everybody who continues to support the Aberdeen lifeboat. Without your donations we would not be able to train our crew or run our boats. Past donations have come from organised football tournaments, bungeejumps, sponsored kayaks, bake sales and all sorts of other events!

If you are interested in getting further involved with Aberdeen lifeboat but you haven't got your sea legs, then why not join our fundraising team? We have an amazing team of fundraisers who have helped organise all sorts of events to raise money for the lifeboat.

Fundraising News:

The annual Aberdeen Lifeboat Flag Day is the day that that the brave crew of Aberdeen Lifeboat take over the streets of Aberdeen to raise money for the station. So, if you are out and about in town on the 10th December and see someone wearing RNLI uniform and carrying a bucket please come and have a chat and make a donation to the station! Without your help we would not be able to respond to emergencies on the river Dee and Don or off the Aberdeenshire coast. We are greatful for all the support that you can give us.

Held at the Beach Ballroom on 29 April, Aberdeen's re-launched RNLI lifeboat ball has raised at least £20,000 for the Institutionís funds.

The event, sponsored by major UK law firm McGrigors LLP, was attended by several hundred guests, these including members of the portís lifeboat crew, with one of the main attractions being the Aberdeen stationís inshore lifeboat James Bissett Simpson. Commenting on the eveningís success, Roger Connon, Aberdeen head of the sponsorís Corporate Social Responsibility said, `We are delighted to have been the principal sponsor of the 2011 Bon Accord Ball, raising a fantastic sum to allow the Aberdeen Lifeboat Station to continue its life saving efforts. `As part of our Energy practice we are heavily involved with clients in the maritime sector and therefore very aware of the vital role which the RNLI plays in the North Sea.'

The crew member co-organisers agreed, `This is a quite magnificent result and fully justifies the hard work which went into its planning. Our very grateful thanks to the many members of the city business community who bought tables, our other guests and also the donors of the numerous prizes.' Margaret Farquhar, Chair of the Aberdeen RNLI branch thanked everyone involved, organisers, donors and guests, `A most successful and enjoyable evening from every point of view, so well done and already looking forward to next year.'
